Will SecondBars work on my phone?
The three things your phone needs, and how to check each one.
What your phone needs
- 1eSIM support, so the line can be added by scanning a code.
- 2The ability to keep two lines active at once.
- 3To be unlocked, meaning it is not restricted to one carrier.
Phones that usually qualify
iPhone XS, iPhone XR and later. Google Pixel 4 and later. Samsung Galaxy S21 and later. Many other recent Android phones qualify too. Support can differ by country of sale and by carrier, so use the checks below rather than relying on the model name alone.
Check for eSIM
Dial *#06# on the phone. If the screen that appears lists an EID number, the phone has an eSIM.
Check that it is unlocked
On iPhone, open Settings, General, About and look for Carrier Lock. "No SIM restrictions" means it is unlocked. On Android the wording varies; your carrier can confirm, and phones bought outright are usually unlocked. Phones still on a payment plan or bought prepaid are often locked.
Keep your carrier and your number.
